Generate a URL to share reports and dashboards with anyone — no login required.

How Link Sharing Works

When you create a shareable link, DATIRA generates a unique URL. Anyone with this link can view your report or dashboard without needing a DATIRA account.

Plan requirement: Link sharing is available on Pro and Business plans only.

Creating a Shareable Link

  1. Open the report or dashboard you want to share
  2. Click the Share button in the top-right corner
  3. Select "Create Link" in the share dialog
  4. Configure link settings:
    • Password protection (optional)
    • Expiration date (optional)
    • Allow download/export or view-only
  5. Click "Create Link"
  6. Copy the link and share it via email, Slack, or any communication tool

Link Settings

Password Protection

Add a password that viewers must enter before accessing the content.

  • Passwords must be at least 8 characters
  • Share the password separately (not in the link itself)
  • You can change the password anytime without changing the URL

Expiration Date

Set a date when the link automatically stops working.

  • Common options: 7 days, 30 days, 90 days, 1 year, or custom
  • Choose "Never" for permanent links
  • Expired links show a "This link has expired" message

Permissions

View Only

Viewers can see the report/dashboard and interact with filters, but cannot export data.

View + Export

Viewers can also download data as CSV/Excel and export charts as images.

Managing Shared Links

View and manage all your shared links in one place:

  1. Go to AccountShared Links
  2. See all active links with their settings
  3. Click a link to:
    • Edit settings (password, expiry, permissions)
    • View access statistics
    • Revoke/disable the link
    • Copy the link URL

Revoking a Link

To immediately stop access via a shared link:

  1. Go to AccountShared Links
  2. Find the link you want to revoke
  3. Click the menu → Revoke Link
  4. Confirm the action

Note: Revoked links cannot be restored. You'll need to create a new link if you want to share again.

Link Analytics

Track how your shared content is being accessed (Pro & Business):

View Count

Total number of times the link was accessed

Unique Viewers

Number of distinct people who viewed (by IP/session)

Last Accessed

When the link was most recently opened

Export Count

How many times data was downloaded (if allowed)

Best Practices

Do ✓

  • ✓ Use password protection for sensitive data
  • ✓ Set expiration dates for temporary access
  • ✓ Regularly review and clean up old links
  • ✓ Share passwords via a separate channel

Don't ✗

  • ✗ Share links publicly for confidential data
  • ✗ Use permanent links for one-time shares
  • ✗ Include passwords in the same message as the link
  • ✗ Forget to revoke links when access is no longer needed
